Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity were delighted to help their Day Hospice team to organise their very first day trip for five
patients at the end of September. The patients were transported from the Hospice to Hartwell House and Spa by the amazing BARTS community bus. On arrival they received such a warm and wonderful welcome from the Hartwell House team.

Laura Griffiths, Day Hospice Deputy Sister told us, “We arrived with a feeling of genuine happiness and excitement for the day ahead. One of our patients said she ‘felt loved’ and after having her nails painted, another patient came out proudly displaying her hands, with the biggest smile on her face. We then had the most delicious afternoon tea in an exclusive dining room, we were looked after beautifully. It was during this time that one of our patients declared she just ‘felt normal’.

“For us as staff, we felt that we had been part of such an immensely special day, it left us with the most wonderful feeling of happiness and gratitude that the Charity allowed us to fulfil this day trip and create some wonderful memories for everyone.”

Money raised from The Hospice Lottery helps Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity fund services that provide essential care for those in need.
