Dawn’s mother, Jennifer, was cared for by Rennie Grove Hospice Care. Dawn said: “For the last four or five years of Mum’s life she had a number of health problems. At the point that her medical team advised she move to palliative care, her GP referred her to Rennie Grove.
“At first Rennie Grove was a service we could call upon if we needed it. But in June last year Mum started to take a turn for the worse. This is when Rennie Grove really stepped.
“As well as regular visits from Hospice at Home nurses, Rennie Grove was able to arrange for healthcare assistants to come to the house to help with Mum’s personal care.
“With the support of Rennie Grove we were able to keep Mum at home as she neared the end of life. We were all with her when she died at home.
“I feel so lucky that we had the support of Rennie Grove during those last weeks and months of Mum’s life. It was such a comfort to us to know that the nurses were at the end of the phone and could help us with everything from medical care to practical information and emotional support for the whole family.”
