Hayley was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in January 2020. On 22 June 2022, she, and her family received the news that nothing more could be done and told she could have just weeks left.

“From the moment we arrived at Florence Nightingale Hospice it was amazing,” said Hayley’s sister, Katie. “When I walked into the ward, Hayley looked relaxed and settled and was given everything possible to make her feel more comfortable.

“She could see her loved ones, her dog – and the Hospice team even made it possible for her horse, Passion, to visit! We were able to have a family curry night and just be together.

“When you’re facing losing a loved one, the one thing you need is time with that person – the Hospice made that possible. I don’t think I would have been able to have been with Hayley as much as I was if she had been at home. I know that she wouldn’t have been as relaxed as she was in the Hospice.

“It really does help me with my grief and the pain of loss to know that Hayley was happy about where she was, and we all felt she was truly loved by the wonderful staff who cared for her.”
