Do you enjoy talking to new people? Do you have a few hours to spare each week? The Hospice Lottery Partnership is looking for a Volunteer Telephone Agent to join our friendly team in Tring.
By volunteering, you will play an important part in helping to make sure our new lottery players feel welcomed and valued, meaning that we can continue raising vital funds for our partner charities.
If you enjoy helping others, being part of a team and sometimes just having a good chat (some of our players love having conversations with our team!), this may be the role for you.
What you will be helping with
• Calling our players to thank them for their support and to provide an opportunity for them to ask questions about their subscription
• Updating player records as appropriate ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
• Assisting with various other administrative tasks as required
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with an ability to represent The Hospice Lottery and our partner charities appropriately and enthusiastically. Support and training will be provided, and we will keep you up to date on all our and our partner charities’ latest news and updates so you can answer any questions our players may have. You might be a good fit if you:
• Are confident on the phone and have a warm personality with the ability to engage with supporters
• Enjoy helping others and being part of a team
• Have great people skills
• Can communicate clearly and respectfully
• Understand the importance of confidentiality
Previous telephone or administration experience is helpful but not essential, as we can teach you everything you need to know and will be happy to help along every step of the way.

Practical details
• Computer skills are helpful but not essential
• Location: Tring office, Akeman Street
• Flexible hours to suit your availability
• Voluntary roles include an informal interview and trial period
