The team at Harlington Hospice hold Creative Arts workshops, as well as regular Creative Arts group sessions, for people with serious or terminal illness with an aim to support emotional wellbeing and self-esteem.

This is part of the Hospice’s Wellbeing service, which involves a range of free of charge sessions and activities available to people living across the Borough of Hillingdon. As well as offering Creative Arts, the Wellbeing service also offers Complementary Therapies such as aromatherapy massage and sessions including yoga and relaxation.

Recently, the Creative Arts team held a 3D Picture workshop, where participants chose an image that resonated with them and enhanced it using recycled objects including stones and shells.

Julia Chipperfield, Creative Arts Lead, explained, “Spending time being creative can be relaxing and enjoyable and can help lessen anxiety and support emotional wellbeing. Our 3D workshop enabled people to observe a picture and find ways to add their own expression using different textures and objects.”
