The Hospice of St Francis is a charity which, every year, helps 2,000 local people and their families in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire, to live their precious lives well.
Whether people are managing, or recovering from serious illness, or living the last days of life, we are there with compassion, treatment and care. We work with patients and families to enable them to achieve personal goals – anything from getting back to work, enjoying family time or walking the dogs again. We support people to live and die where they want to be.
Our team of professional staff and dedicated, trained volunteers, care for people with the many different illness that foreshorten life including motor neurone disease, dementia, heart disease, lung disease, neurological illness and cancer.
We are proud to be able to say that people in South and West Hertfordshire and South Buckinghamshire can rely on us for care wherever they need us – in their own home, or at the Hospice in Berkhamsted – from specialist clinics, creative, complementary or psychological support to physiotherapy to medical and nursing care 24/7).
It costs over £5 million every year to fund our free care to enable local people to live their precious lives well. Less than 20% of this funding comes from the NHS. As a Hospice Lottery player, you play a vital role in ensuring that The Hospice of St Francis will be there for people in our community whenever and whenever they need us. Thank you.
Every lottery play means we can for people every day and pilot new forms of care – in 2022 this means new specialist iron and bisphosphonate clinics and a new community location for care in Amersham.
