East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity raises funds for extra equipment, refurbishments, research, staff training and those extra special touches which complement the services provided by the NHS.
The charity supports the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and its four hospitals – the Lister in Stevenage, the new QEII in Welwyn Garden City, Hertford County Hospital in Hertford and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood, North London – to reach the objective of being among the best healthcare providers in the country.
East and North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity funds items and services that are above and beyond the remit of the NHS: equipment to enhance treatment for patients; refurbishments to improve the hospital environments; research to advance knowledge of the best treatments for patients; staff training and recognition schemes to ensure staff are happy, fulfilled and delivering the best care and those extra special touches to ensure patients have the best experience they can.
Some of the exciting projects the charity has funded include a refurbishment in the neonatal unit to create a warm and relaxing space for families; interactive floor systems with games, puzzles and fun images so children can play and distract themselves from their pain or injury while they wait for treatment; ‘dementia bus stops’ to help create familiar waiting areas for patients with dementia waiting for appointments and a state-of-the-art device called a PrecisonPoint to diagnose prostate cancer.
By playing The Hospice Lottery in support of East & North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity, your contribution will help to support local patient care.
The funds raised from the lottery will help us fund extra equipment and services, refurbishments and those extra special touches to ensure our wonderful NHS staff can continue to go above and beyond for all our patients.
