Rehabilitation Garden took a significant step forward on Thursday 2 May, as renowned Royal Chelsea Garden winner, Tom Stuart-Smith, took his award-winning design to life by laying out the plants.

With the help of eight dedicated volunteers, the garden will swiftly begin to take shape as they meticulously plant according to the design. Following this, the installation of the resin bond surface and the erection of the garden shelter will mark the next exciting phases of development.

”The Jubilee Rehabilitation Garden is such a great project,” explains Shirley Clipp, Major Appeals Manager. “It will make such a difference to patients here at Hillingdon Hospital. It is fantastic to be able to provide this facility with charity funds.”

The garden will provide an opportunity for long-stay patients at Hillingdon Hospital, specifically those on the Alderbourne Rehab ward, Stroke ward, and Daniel’s ward, to immerse themselves in the therapeutic benefits of nature, fostering healing and well-being.

The charity supports The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and its two hospitals – Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals – to reach the objective of being among the best healthcare providers in the country.
